There are currently limited but varied sizes of quality industrial and light industrial land available in the Maitland area, with two main estates offering both design and construct development opportunities, and sites with established facilities. Both of these estates provide an excellent opportunity for a diverse range of industries to carry out their business in Maitland's unique lifestyle environment.

Racecourse Business Park (Rutherford)

This is one of the Hunter's major Industrial land release sites, and situated in Maitland's Western Growth Corridor.

Initially developed as part of the Council's economic development strategy for the City and in conjunction with the Lower Hunter Gateway plan, Racecourse Business Park has some of the best features of industrial estate development - level sites with no tree cover, and ready to build.

With access from the New England Highway this estate is in an ideal location. The land is fully prepared and cleared, and serviced for immediate building.

All relevant environmental issues have been taken into consideration in the development of the Racecourse Business Park, including the provision of flooding and drainage control systems, landscaping and nature corridors.

For further information contact Hunter Land on (02) 49664966.

Rutherford is currently home to mining support companies, vineyard suppliers, structural fabricators, earthmovers, concrete producers and mechanical engineering companies, plus many more.

Thornton Industrial Estate

Privately developed by Hunter Land (www.hunterland.com.au), this light industrial estate features 90 hectares of employment land. It is isolated from residential areas, yet close to the F3 Freeway, New England Hwy and Pacific Hwy - connections in all directions!

Part of the larger Beresfield / Thornton employment area, the location will eventually be home to a workforce of over 7,000.

Superbly situated for employers, the estate is within 20 minutes of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and growth suburbs in Maitland LGA at Thornton North, Ashtonfield and Morpeth.

There are currently limited lots available for design and construct developments, ranging from 2,400 m2 to over 30,000 m2 in size. This development is ideal for transport, construction and light manufacturing firms.
