Regional Economic Development Strategy

The development of Regional Economic Development Strategies (REDS) across state regions is an initiative of the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, through the Centre for Economic and Regional Development (CERD).

CERD is working closely with local councils to roll out REDS, which apply standardised regional economic development methodology to identify existing economic strengths, new opportunities to enhance the region's development, performance and competitiveness and to set the region on a path to sustainable economic development.

As part of this businesses and interested community members are invited to participate in a survey being undertaken as part of the REDS project. Anyone interested in business and jobs growth in the Maitland or Hunter region is eligible to participate in the survey. The survey will help researchers gather information on key issues, opportunities and risks that exist in our region.
