Your senses will be alive and tingling when you experience the delights of the Maitland Aroma Coffee and Chocolate Festival on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August at the Maitland Riverside Carpark.

The annual event brings together some of the Hunter’s finest baristas, roasters and chocolatiers over two days in a delicious celebration of coffee and chocolate that promises to ward off the winter chill. The event program is packed with things to do including live demonstrations, outdoor lounge areas, a kid’s cafe and a host of live music across the weekend.

Council’s Events Coordinator Adam Franks says, ‘Maitland Aroma provides an opportunity to showcase the many talented producers from around our region. There will also be a number of new additions this year including the Rocky Road Lab in the kid’s activity area run by Cake Craze.

‘Aroma brought more than 15,000 people to Central Maitland last year and we encourage everyone to come along and enjoy a great weekend.’

Aroma will feature over 80 stalls and there will also be a range of coffee and chocolate inspired cooking demonstrations on the TAFE NSW Flavour Stage from local businesses like Myrtle & Pepper and Dragonfly Foods. This year will also feature workshops, facilitated by TAFE NSW.

TAFE NSW pastry chef Paul Miranda says, ‘ We’ll be at Aroma to show festival goers not just what we can do with amazing ingredients, but also what they can do when shown how.

‘Maitland Aroma is a great celebration of coffee and chocolate which are both wonderful ingredients, so I’m excited about what we can achieve with these workshops.’

While it isn’t officially part of the event’s schedule, festival goers will also have the opportunity to experience the very first Hunter Arts Network Art Bazaar Pop Up market in The Levee Shared Zone on Saturday 12 August.
