Craft beer lovers will rejoice at the first round announcement of brewers attending this year’s Bitter & Twisted Boutique Beer Festival at the historic Maitland Gaol on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 November.

The selection of brewers confirmed so far features popular local favourites Murray’s Craft Brewing Co, Dusty Miner Craft Brewery, River Port Brewing Company as well as Central Coast based Six Strings Brewing Company. The ever popular Modus Operandi, Nomad Brewing Co, Sydney Brewery and Australian Brewery are also back this year.

Prancing Pony, Pirate Life Brewing and Willie the Boatman got the taste for Bitter and Twisted last year as part of a tap takeover in B wing and are each returning in their own right this year, along with Bitter and Twisted newcomers and New Zealand export, Yeastie Boys.

All of these brewers will bring with them a unique selection of handcrafted beers that will add to the more than 80 beers on offer.

Maitland City Council Events Officer Kate Henry says ‘This exciting first round of brewers is just the start of what will be on offer at Bitter and Twisted in terms of beer. With more brewers to announce and an exciting beer appreciation program in the works, craft beer fans are sure to be excited’.

The brewers announcement follows the impressive music program announced last week, featuring headliners Architecture in Helsinki and The Delta Riggs.

‘We’re confident that Bitter & Twisted 2017 is shaping up to be one of the best yet’, said Mrs Henry.
