Community Research Survey

The ten year Community Strategic Plan ‘Maitland +10’ and four year Delivery Program 2013-17 establish a range of outcomes and objectives for both the community and Council.

In striving to meet these goals, it is vital to monitor progress over time for both ‘Maitland +10’ and the Delivery Program against the performance indicators. While many of these indicators are quantitative and are based in strict sources of data (for example population growth), a significant proportion are based on community attitudes and community satisfaction.

In order to continue to monitor our progress in community attitudes and community satisfaction, Council undertakes an annual community research survey with a representative cross-section of Maitland residents. The research includes a randomly selected phone survey of 600 Maitland residents and four focus groups where identified topics are examined in more detail and further explored.
