The Approval Process

Erection of single dwellings, single dwelling alterations & additions, swimming pools

In most cases these proposal types will meet the criteria to obtain a Complying Development Certificate. If not all the criteria is met, or if your land is situated in an area where Complying Development is not permitted, a Development Consent and a Construction Certificate will need to be obtained. Commercial & Industrial

Requires an application for Development Consent and a Construction Certificate, or in some cases your proposal may meet the criteria to obtain a Complying Development Certificate. Please contact Council’s Duty Officers for assistance.

Change of use of Land

No approval is required if the Change of use is from a shop to a shop or an office to an office. In some cases a Change of Use can be done as Complying Development, in some cases for Development Consent is required. If any internal or external alterations are to be carried out, a Construction Certificate will also be required. Please contact Council’s Duty Officers for assistance.
