INFANT AND PRESCHOOL CLASSES
Infant and preschool classes provide aquatic education through water play. Classes run for 30 minutes
Seahorses Introduce basic water familiarisation and develops water confidence. Educating both child and parent on the importance of water safety, through song, fun and games. Parents and guardians must be in the water for the duration of the class.
Goldfish Begginner For preschool aged children who can understand basic instruction and are not very confident in an aquatic environment. Education is based around water safety and water survival, introduction to supported paddling and progressing to unsupported paddling
Goldfish Advanced For preschool aged children who have had water education lesson before and are confident in an aquatic environment. Participants will be self sufficient in paddling and learning the basics of swimming.
SWIM AND SURVIVE CLASSES
Classes are offered for children 5 years and older. Classes run for 30 minutes.
Clownfish BeginnersDesigned for children who are non-swimmers. Develops water confidence and awareness, concentrating on beginner dog paddle; back floating; submerge and blow bubbles; safe entries and exits.
Clownfish Advanced Designed for children who are confident in an aquatic environment and have had previous water education lessons. They will be understanding water safety through a basic swimming technique and progressing to 5m unassisted swim.
SquidsChildren should be able to swim for 5m unassisted as a minimum. The class focuses on freestyle, backstroke, breathing as well as basic rescue and survival skills.
Penguins Children should be able to swim 20m unassisted. The class will focus on freestyle breathing, timing and kicking. Rescue and survival skills will be taught.
SharksChildren should be able to swim 25m unassisted. The class will introduce backstroke and provide stroke correction. Basic rescue and survival skills will be further developed as will endurance and survivability
