Event Closures


ROAD CLOSURE - SPECIAL EVENT - MAITLAND RIVER RUN - Sunday 27 September 2015

Council wishes to advise that it has received an application to temporarily close the following streets in Maitland to conduct the Maitland River Run special event.  Date and times are as follows:

 From 8.00am to 1.00pm Sunday 27 September 2015:

  •  High Street - from Church Street to Cathedral Street
  • High Street - northern side from St Andrews Street to Church Street
  • Stillsbury Lane
  • Cathedral Street - full length.

The proposed route for runners will include the above streets and the river bank area.  The start will be near the High Street / Church Street intersection and finish will be adjacent to Bulwer Street.

Comments relating to the running of the event (not related to road closures or traffic management), should be made in writing, addressed to the General Manager, Maitland City Council, PO Box 220, Maitland 2320, endorsed 'Maitland River Run Event - File 150/5'.  The closing date for comments relating to the special event is 4.00pm Thursday 11 June 2015.

Public comments regarding the proposed road closures should also be forwarded in writing (addressed to the General Manager at the above address), endorsed 'Maitland River Run - Road Closures - File 122/944'.  The closing date for comments will be 4.00pm on Thursday 25 June 2015.

 


Proposed Temporary Road Closures for THE AROMA - COFFEE, CHOCOLATE & FINE FOOD FESTIVAL 2015

Council has approved the temporary closure of the following Maitland streets to conduct the upcoming Maitland Aroma event:

From 6.00am Friday 14 August 2015 to 12.00pm Monday 17 August 2015:

  • St Andrews Street - between High Street and the riverbank
  • Riverside Car Park
  • Stillsbury Lane - between Riverside Car Park and High Street.

From 6.00am to 6.00pm Saturday 15 August 2015 and Sunday 16 August 2015:

  • The Levee - High Street between Elgin Street and Bourke Street.

Warning and detour signs will be installed where appropriate. 


Temporary Road Closure - Riverlights Multicultural Festival - Saturday 10 October 2015

Council wishes to advise that it has received an application to temporarily close the following streets in Maitland for the duration of the Riverlights Multicultural Festival:

From 6.00am Saturday 10 October to 9.00am Sunday 11 October 2015:

1.    The Levee (High Street) between Bourke Street and Elgin Street.

2.    Bulwer Street from High Street to just north of the Maitland Leagues Club entrance.

3.    Dransfield Lane.

Comments relating to the running of the event (not related to road closures or traffic management) should be made in writing, addressed to the General Manager, Maitland City Council, PO Box 220, Maitland 2320, endorsed 'Riverlights Multicultural Event - File 150/5'.  The closing date for comments relating to the special event is 4.00pm Thursday 16 July 2015.

Public comments regarding the proposed road closure should also be forwarded in writing (addressed to the General Manager at the above address), endorsed 'Riverlights Multicultural Event - File 122/944'.  The closing date for comments will be 4.00pm on Thursday 30 July 2015.

  


Temporary Road Closure - Special Event - Maitland Gaol

A special event is proposed to be held at Maitland Gaol on 10 October 2015.  Maitland City Council proposes the following temporary road closure in East Maitland for this event.  The closure is detailed below:

John Street, East Maitland from roundabout on Morpeth Road to Morpeth Gaol entry gates - 2.00pm to 10.00pm Saturday 10 October 2015.

Comments relating to the temporary road closure shall be forwarded in writing, addressed to the General Manager, Maitland City Council, PO Box 220, Maitland 2320, endorsed 'Special Event - Temporary Road Closure - John Street - File 122/944'.  The closing date for comments relating to the road closure / traffic management is 4.00pm on 13 August 2015.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE“BITTER & TWISTED 2015” EVENTMAITLAND GAOL

The “Bitter and Twisted” beer tasting festival is to be held at Maitland Gaol on 7 and 8 November 2015.  Maitland City Council proposes the following temporary road closure in East Maitland for this event.  The closure is detailed below for public exhibition and comment:

John Street East Maitland from roundabout on Morpeth Road to Maitland Gaol entry gates.

6.00am to 8.00pm daily Saturday 7 November and Sunday 8 November 2015.
