TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – SPECIAL EVENT - “BITTER & TWISTED 2017” EVENT - MAITLAND GAOL


The "Bitter and Twisted" beer tasting festival is to be held at Maitland Gaol on 4 and 5 November 2017. Maitland City Council has approved the following temporary road closure and associated parking measures in East Maitland for this event from 6.00 am to 8.00pm on Saturday 4 November and Sunday 5 November 2017 

  • John Street East Maitland to be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from the roundabout on Morpeth Road to just east of the Maitland Gaol entry gates
  • A temporary Disability Parking Zone will be installed on John Street just east of the Gaol administration car park exit driveway
  • A temporary Taxi Zone will be installed on John Street just east of the Disability Parking Zone.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - HIGH STREET – THE LEVEE - INSTALLATION OF CHRISTMAS DISPLAYS

Notice is hereby given that High Street (The Levee) between Bourke Street and Elgin Street, and Bulwer Street north of Dransfield Lane, will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic for the installation of Christmas displays on
Monday 13 November 2017 6.00am to 6.00pm

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES - 2017 NEW YEARS EVE CELEBRATION IN MAITLAND

Council intends to temporarily close some streets in Maitland to vehicular traffic during the New Year’s Eve celebrations on the riverbank. The closure details are:

From 6.00am Sunday 31 December 2017 to 9.00am Monday 1 January 2018 (closure time at Police discretion):

  • St Andrews Street - between High Street and riverbank
  • Riverside Car Park
  • Stillsbury Lane

From 3.00pm Sunday 31 December 2017 to 1.00am Monday 1 January 2018:

  • High Street - eastbound lane from Belmore Road to just west of Church Street
  • High Street - westbound lane from just west of Church Street to Little Hunter Street (egress to Belmore Rd will be maintained via Little Hunter Street).

RIVERLIGHTS MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL SATURDAY 10-11 FEBRUARY 2018

Council wishes to advise that it has received an application to temporarily close the following streets in Maitland for the duration of the Riverlights Multicultural Festival from 5.30am Saturday 10 February to midday Sunday 11 February 2018 for the following:

  • The Levee (High Street) - between Bourke Street and Elgin Street
  • Bulwer Street - from High Street to just north of the Maitland Leagues Club entrance
  • Dransfield Lane

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – SPECIAL EVENT TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE 20th ANNIVERSARY OF MAITLAND GAOL CLOSURE

A special event commemorating the 20th anniversary of the closure of Maitland Gaol is to be held at Maitland Gaol on Sunday 28 January 2018. Council proposes the following temporary road closure in East Maitland for this event.

The road closure is detailed below for public exhibition and comment from John Street East Maitland from roundabout on Morpeth Road to Maitland Gaol entry gates 6.00am to 5.00pm Sunday 28 January 2018.

A special event celebrating the opening of the Riverlink Building in The Levee is to be held on Sunday 28 January 2018. Council proposes the following temporary road closure in East Maitland for this event. The road closure is detailed below for public exhibition and comment:

Set up and presentation of Riverlink Building Launch – 6.00am to midnight Saturday 27 January 2018

  • The Levee (High Street) between Elgin Street and Bourke Street
  • Bulwer Street from High Street to just north of the Maitland Leagues Club entrance
  • Dransfield Lane.
