TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES
MAITLAND RIVER RUN

Council wishes to advise that it has approved an application to temporarily close the following streets in Maitland to conduct the Maitland River Run special event.  Date and times are as follows:

from 8.00am to 1.30pm Sunday, 26 May 2013 -

1.   High Street - from Church Street to Cathedral Street;
2.   High Street - northern side from St Andrews Street to Church Street;
3.   Stillsbury Lane; and
4.   Cathedral Street - full length.

The start will be adjacent to Stillsbury Lane on High Street and the finish will be under the 'sails' adjacent to Bulwer Street.

The proposed route for runners will include the above streets and the river bank area.

Council proposes to temporarily close sections of the following Maitland streets to conduct the upcoming Maitland Aroma event:

From 6.00am Friday, 16 August 2013 to 8.00pm Sunday, 18 August 2013 -
   High Street between Bourke Street and Elgin Street;
   Bulwer Street from High Street to just north of the Maitland Leagues Club entrance;
   Dransfield Lane (full length)

From 6.00am Saturday, 17 August 2013 to 8.00pm Sunday, 18 August 2013 -
   High Street between Bourke Street and Cathedral Street;
   Bourke Street from High Street to Coffin Lane.

   The Ken Tubman Drive overnight Taxi Zone south of High Street roundabout will be
   converted to a temporary daytime Bus Zone to replace the Post Office Bus Stop
   during the event.

Warning and detour signs will be installed where appropriate.

Comments relating to the running of the event (not related to road closures or traffic managment), should be made in writing, addressed to the General Manager, Maitland City Council, PO Box 220, Maitland 2320, endorsed "Maitland Aroma Special Event - File 150/5".  The closing date for comments relating to the special event is 4.00pm on 22 May 2013.

Public comments regarding the proposed road closure should also be forwarded in writing (addressed to the General Manager at the above address), endorsed "Maitland Aroma Special Event - File 122/944".  The closing date for comments is 4.00pm on 5 June 2013.
