Winner of the 2016 NSW Premier's Literary Award Book of the Year for The Dark Emu, Bruce Pascoe argues for the reconsideration of our understanding of the way Aboriginal people lived in colonial times, drawing extensively from the journals of explorers to present evidence about the agricultural and technological sophistication of Aborigines.

Bruce Pascoe has written 27 books, winning the Prime Minister's Award in 2013 with his novel Fog.As a Board Member of First Languages Australia and the past Secretary of the Bidwell-Maap Aboriginal Nation, Bruce Pascoe presents a powerful voice on indigenous history and indigenous language revival.

He is joined in conversation with Amorelle Dempster, leader of Slow Food Hunter Valley and the Australian Councillor for Slow Food International.
