Walls That Talk

Whats On > Walls That Talk

Walls That Talk is a place activation initiative that displays images of art, photography or, socio-historical in an outdoor environment for the whole community to enjoy and experience.

Maitland Library exhibits a series of eye-catching installations as part of the Walls That Talk place activation initiative.  Installations celebrate iconic people and places in Maitland, community diversity and have included an exploration of heroes from the world of comics.

The installations are highly visible and unique, exhibited on the front of the curved building, and allow engagement with aspects of community and culture beyond the confines of a museum or gallery.

The Walls That Talk program aims to:

enhance Maitland’s built environment and create a vibrant gateway to Central Maitland
inspire the community’s imagination, allowing them to engage with arts and culture beyond the confines of a museum or gallery
reinforce the unique identity of Maitland
provide a highly visible platform for creative expression
