Family history enquiries
For family history enquiries, citizens can search Council's online burial register or contact Council's Cemetery Officer.
Burial Register
Council's online Burial Register is a record of all known burials in Council cemeteries.
Due to the age of some records Council cannot guarantee the accuracy and completeness of the records.
Family History
Prior to the 1980's burials and record keeping was done by churches, funeral directors, and gravediggers. Due to the age of some burials, older records are often incomplete or have unreadable headstones, which makes identification difficult.
For family history enquiries, please contact Council's Cemetery Officer on 02 4934 9770 or email cemeteries@maitland.nsw.gov.au
