Maitland City Council is conducting road upgrades including pavement widening along Allandale Road, Allandale between the railway underpass (Boundary with Cessnock Council) and the New England Highway.
Works commenced Monday 10 May 2021 with a proposed duration of 20 weeks.
Allandale Road will be under traffic control with significant periods of single lane traffic during the construction period. There will also be increased truck and plant movements at this location during the works period.
A FULL ROAD CLOSURE will also be in place from 6:00am Saturday 19th June until 5:00pm Friday 25th June. During this time Council will be excavating through the section of existing rock embankment at the top of the hill to widen the road pavement. During the excavations there will be a high risk of falling material which is the reason Council is closing the road. We intend for Allandale Road to be reopened at the end of each work shift (5:00pm) during the road closure period however there may be times when this is not possible.
Please also be aware that these works are heavily dependent on weather and there may be delays due to poor weather. This may result in changes to these dates at short notice.
We thank you for your understanding during this time.
