Business waste
Council offers the following waste services to businesses in the local government area at the applicable rates. A one off connection fee is payable at the time of ordering, prior to the delivery of the new bins and a service charge is applied to the properties rates.
Per connection | Service fee | |
Commercial waste | $88.00 | $705.00 |
Commercial recycling (240L or 360L) | $35.00 | $95.00 |
Commercial garden organics | $35.00 | $70.00 |
Keep in mind that recycling and garden organic bins are a fraction of the cost of waste bins, so save money and the environment by separating your waste!
To apply for a business waste service, complete the online waste service request form.
- Ensure the form is fully completed and then make payment and submit
- A record of your request will be emailed to you for your records
Please note: Whilst Council offer the above waste services to businesses it is important to note that there are a range of private waste collection contractors in our community that may be able to better service any specialised waste needs your business may have.
The Environment Protection Authority works with businesses and government to improve recycling and reduce our impact on the environment. There are a range of tools and guidelines to educate and assist businesses to recycle more and send less waste to landfill.

- Leftover food donation: If you are in the hospitality sector, a food retailer or simply have large amounts of leftover food during your operation, consider donating your excess food to organisations such as Food rescue kitchen project (Slow Food Hunter Valley), OzHarvest, SecondBite and Foodbank.
- Disposal of old computers, laptops and printers: If you need to dispose of these items and other electronic waste visit Planet Ark's business recycling directory.
- Disposal of printer cartridges: To find locations where your printer cartridges can be dropped off for recycling or to arrange workplace collection visit cartridges4planetark.
To help those in the workplace that wish to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill, Planet Ark have developed a recycling stardom guide under their business recycling online resources. Check it out!
