GP Access After Hours is a service catering for people requiring medical attention after normal doctor surgery opening times. The GP Access clinic is located at Maitland Hospital. GP Access also offers a phone service to provide advice to people considering visiting a GP or making the trip to hospital. Maitland Hospital (Public)
The Maitland Hospital is located at 51 Metford Rd, Metford and is part of Hunter New England Local Health District. It services the Upper and Lower Hunter regions including the cities for Maitland, Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, Singleton, Muswellbrook, Dungog and Raymond Terrace. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of services including medical, rehabilitation, surgical, mental health, dental, renal, maternity and child services, a coronary care/high dependency unit and a 24 hour emergency department.Maitland Private Hospital
Maitland Private Hospital is located at 175 Chisholm Road, East Maitland and is an 86 bed acute medical, surgical, post natal and rehabilitation hospital. As the only private hospital between Newcastle and Taree, it plays a valuable role in the communities of Maitland, the Lower Hunter and Port Stephens.East Maitland Community Health Centre
East Maitland Community Health Services offer a range of community based health services to all members of the Maitland community. Further information about the services provided can be found on the Hunter New England Health website. The health centre is located at 58 Stronach Avenue, East Maitland.
Maitland has a variety of child care and education options catering for babies and toddlers through to adults. For school age children Maitland has a wide variety of public, private, religion based as well as independent schools including an option for Steiner schooling.
