Youth Week 2023
Our Youth Week survey for 2023 is now closed and we would like to thank all of those who participated and provided their ideas.
We are still currently seeking youth panel applications from those aged between 12 and 24 that live, work or study in the Maitland area.
As a youth panellist, you will be involved in selecting winning grant entries, help out with marketing and promotion, and support youth week activities.
Panel registrations close Thursday 2 March 2023 and grant applications close Wednesday 15 March.
WHAT YOUNG PEOPLE TOLD US
Throughout the first six weeks of 2023, we asked young people to help us shape Youth Week 2023.
We found that the topics most important to young people included:
- Study, jobs and start ups (most important to 15 - 19 year olds, and 20 - 24 year olds)
- Health and wellbeing (most important to 12 - 14 year olds)
- Services that support young people
There was an open section for comment, with young people given the opportunity to provide a little more detail around what they might like to see. Grant applications which look to incorporate these themes will be considered favourably:
- Music, music festivals, and festivals in general
- Sports competitions
- Career expos and workshops
- Arts (drawing, cinema, history)
- Comedy shows
- Food and baking competitions
