Changes to Council services
The majority of Council's services have resumed business as usual, as restrictions have eased during the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, it is important for the health and safety of our staff and citizens that if you are visiting a Council facility, please ensure you practice good hygiene and social distancing. If you feel unwell, have returned from overseas in the past 14 days, have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results or have been in contact with a confirmed case of Coronavirus (COVID-19), please do not attend any Council site or facility. Please note: Our Duty Surveyor and Duty Planner desk are available during the hours 8.30am - 12.30pm.
The Council’s Customer Experience Team have resumed operating at their normal hours of 8.30am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
Maitland Visitor Information Centre is open 7 days a week, 10am-3pm.
Social distancing and hygiene measures are in place and registration is required upon entering these venues. Hand sanitiser is be available on entry and each Centre will be subject to a maximum capacity dependant on the size of the facility and in accordance with the NSW Government’s social distancing guidelines. All transactions will remain cashless.
Please note: Duty Desk for Planning will also be operating during the hours of 8.30am to 12.30pm.
There are no changes to our residential waste services including kerbside collection and the operation of Mount Vincent Road Waste Management Centre. In addition, all street litter bins will continue to be collected and maintained as normal.
Mount Vincent Waste Management Centre no longer accepts cash payments. This will minimise hand to hand contact and is for the safety of our people and the community.
The Waste Management Centre is open 8.15am to 4.00pm every day (closed Good Friday and Christmas Day), for commercial waste and for Maitland City Council residents only with proof of residential address required for entry.
In addition, our Community Recycling Centre (CRC) located within the facility will only now accept steel, vegetation, timber, tyres and e-waste to protect our people and the community. Further information on what is no longer accepted at the CRC can be found on Council’s website.
