Book smart: It’s never been easier to book one of Maitland’s 90 community venues

Maitland residents and ratepayers can now view, book and pay for 90 community venues across the local government area following the introduction of a new facility booking system.

From hosting a birthday bash at your neighbourhood park to a study session at the local library, booking one of Maitland City Council’s many community spaces has never been easier or more accessible following the introduction of Bookable, a new facility booking system.

With a Bookable account, eager patrons can view upcoming venue availabilities in real-time, make a booking on the spot, process payments securely, and if they change their mind, make edits to or cancel bookings at the click of a button.

Maitland Mayor Philip Penfold said the new booking system was a “huge improvement that puts the evolving needs of our community and our customers front of mind.”

“We’ve done away with paper application forms and PDF attachments; using Bookable, customers can self-service by seeing live availability, make and manage their one-off or reoccurring bookings, and process upcoming bills using the secure payments portal.”

“This means less back-and-forth, an easier-to-use interface and an overall better customer experience for everyone who wants to use a Maitland venue or facility for an upcoming function, gathering or game.”

Through Bookable, users can filter by date range, suburb, capacity and more, simplifying the search for the right venue.

Most bookings are instantly confirmed, however Maitland’s three major venues – Maitland Town Hall, Maitland Regional Sportsground and Maitland Athletics Centre – are available in Bookable, but bookings will be viewed and confirmed by council staff before being locked in.
