Changes to Council facilities and services Friday 3 April
Council will be closing its Customer Service Centre located at 285-287 High Street, Maitland to the public from close of business today (4.30pm Friday 3 April) until further notice. In response to Government public health orders that restrict the gathering and movement of people to essential services, Council has recently seen a marked decrease in the number of people attending our Customer Services Centre. While the face to face service will close, our team are still working and there are a variety of other ways people can engage and transact with Council including via phone, live web chat, email and online through Council’s website. For community members who have no other way to make a transaction with Council, appointments will be made available for transactions (please note we don’t accept cash) between the hours of 11.00am and 1.00pm every Wednesday. Appointments can be made by calling 4934 9700.
Council’s Mount Vincent Road Waste Management Centre remains open 8.15am to 4.00pm every day (closed Good Friday and Christmas Day), for commercial waste and for Maitland City Council residents only with proof of residential address required for entry. In addition, our Community Recycling Centre (CRC) located within the facility will only now accept steel, vegetation, timber, tyres and e-waste to protect our people and the community. Further information on what is no longer accepted at the CRC can be found on Council’s website. In line with Government restrictions which limit travel for essential reasons only, residents are encouraged to not visit the Waste Facility and stay at home and stop the spread of COVID-19. For those who do visit the facility, please note we do not accept cash. Council will be monitoring use of the Waste Management Centre and any further changes to opening hours or operations will be published on Council’s website and residents should check for any changes before travelling to the Mt Vincent Road Facility.
These are difficult circumstances and we appreciate your patience and understanding. Remember to find the latest information on Council’s facilities and services click here.
