Council's draft 20 year land use vision now open for community feedback
Council has prepared a draft 20 year vision for land use planning called the Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS). The LSPS will explain how Council intends to manage population growth while respecting the existing character of the city's suburbs and community values.
As part of the development of the LSPS, Council needed to consider what land types the community will need for the future in terms of housing, employment, community facilities, transport and the environment as well as how Council will address global trends like climate change and advances in technology.
Late last year, Council undertook extensive engagement with the community and internal stakeholders to help inform the vision, and heard from almost 1,200 people who shared 5,000 ideas and comments. The result is the draft LSPS, which has now been endorsed by Council for public exhibition from 30 March until 3 May 2020.
You are invited to comment on the draft document during this period by making an online submission using the form on our website or emailing email@example.com
