Council's Operational Plan 2020-21
We recently invited community feedback on the draft Operational Plan, 2020/21, which will be reported to Council for approval in June and take effect from July.
The 2020/21 plan will see Council’s largest ever budget of $180 million injected into the local economy, which will be important as we continue to move through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Key aspects of the Operational Plan 2020/21 include the $56.6 million capital works budget and the continuation of major infrastructure projects. It will also guide delivery of plans and strategies such as future land use planning, economic development and visitor economy, and a range of community and cultural events and festivals.
The capital works budget covers a range of major road reconstructions and rehabilitation, road resurfacing, footpath construction and refurbishments, building works, floodlight upgrades and irrigation improvements across the city.
It is important to note that during the preparation of the 2020/21 Operational Plan, many Council facilities temporarily closed and various events and programs were postponed or cancelled and as such further impact on Council’s service delivery may continue into the new financial year.
