Delivery Program 2018-2021 adopted by Council

Council’s Delivery Program 2018-2021 and Operational Plan 2018/19 was officially adopted at last night’s Council meeting following public exhibition and engagement during April and May.

The Delivery Program 2018-2021 provides a guide for Council’s response to Maitland +10 and the growth expected within the city.

Maitland Mayor, Cr Loretta Baker says, ‘There has been a lot of work that has gone into developing the Delivery Program to ensure that it reflects the wants and needs of our community. It is the first for the new Council, and I’m pleased to say that there are a huge range of exciting projects and initiatives planned over the next three years.

‘Some of the highlights include the completion of the Maitland Regional Athletics Centre, the multipurpose community centre at Gillieston Heights, and new skate park at East Maitland’.

The development of the Delivery Program has harnessed over 18 months of citizen engagement, and has involved a number of active workshops and information sessions with Councillors, ensuring the program incorporates priorities identified by Councillors as the elected representatives of the community. The Delivery Program will see an injection of $470 million into services, activities and projects over the three year term of Council. 

Council’s Operational Plan 2018/19 details specific actions that will be taken during the first financial year of the Delivery Program. The first year operating budget of $144 million includes the management of an asset portfolio of $1.16 billion (at today’s value), the delivery of a capital works budget of $30 million, and the management of $118 million in investments. The Operational Plan includes the 2018/19 rating structure and fees and charges, along with a detailed program of capital works.
