Help us shape the future of Maitland
Maitland City Council is seeking community input into a review of Maitland +10, the local community’s long term strategic plan, which sets a vision for Maitland.
Maitland +10 identifies the main priorities and aspirations for the future of the Maitland local government area over the next 10 years, and 2021 will be the 10th anniversary of our first community strategic plan.
Since Maitland +10 was originally developed in 2011, many major projects have been delivered including The Riverlink Building, Maitland’s indoor pool and the redevelopment at Maitland No. 1 Sportsground.
Maitland Mayor Cr Loretta Baker says ‘Maitland +10 is a vital plan which determines Council’s focus for the coming years by capturing our community’s vision for the future of Maitland and in turn, guides Council’s four year Delivery Program and annual Operational Plans.
‘We want to know what you love about Maitland, and the challenges you think our city currently faces, and may face in 10 years.’
Residents will have plenty of opportunities to have their say with the first starting today with an online values and vision survey available at mait.city/37EZiQs
The survey builds on the engagement Council has been undertaking over the past few years, collecting data for a range of projects including the Local Strategic Planning Statement and Destination Management Plan.
This latest survey will help us refine the five strategic themes of Maitland +10 which are Proud People, Great Lifestyle, Our Built Space, Our Natural Environment, A Prosperous and Vibrant City, and Connected and Collaborative Community Leaders.
To help get you thinking about life in 10 years, Council asked some of our youngest residents what they think. Check out the very cute videos on Council’s Facebook page throughout the month. For more about our engagement activities for Maitland +10, head to maitlandyoursay.com.au
