Maitland Aroma returns to the Riverside Car Park
It looks like this weekend will be the coldest of the year but lucky for us, we’ve got delicious chocolate and piping hot coffee coming to the rescue. Maitland Aroma is back bigger and better than ever this Saturday and Sunday from 10.00am to 4.00pm at the Riverside Car Park and there’s so much to look forward to.
This year the festival will feature lots of great stallholders, musicians and food options but it’s the Flavour Stage demonstrations that I am really excited about. Being able to learn from the experts about how delicious food and drinks can be made is enticing for me. I try to learn something new that I can actually take home and implement into my cooking.
I should also make mention of the Coffee Discovery Lab by Danes Specialty Coffee and the Pop Up Bar by Mr Black and RAMA Bar, which are both exciting new editions to the festival. The lab will be located inside a shipping container and will serve and sell delicious Danes coffee. It will also feature experts providing demonstrations and answering questions. The pop up bar will be a great collaboration and will be offering a range of exotic cocktails.
I’ve always been a lover of coffee meaning this weekend is one of my favourites every year and I will be there taking it all in. I hope you can make it as well.
In addition to the Aroma festivities, there will also be activities at The Levee Shared Zone on both days. On Saturday Artastique will be painting the Shared Zone with visual art, life drawing as well as a Sketch Attack activity, so don’t miss it. On Sunday there will be a Classic Car Display with vehicles from the British Car Club Hunter Region Inc and the Maitland Street Rodders all lining up.
NSW Education Week
It was a priviledge to present awards and it was an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of students, teachers and school communities. I was really impressed with the number of parents and friends in attendance. It was so busy that the event actually had to be moved from the hall to the larger multi purpose centre.
I am always happy to see so many bright, enthusiastic young people clearly looking to grow and improve. It gives me great confidence in the future of Maitland.
