Maitland Riverlights proudly presented by Greater Bank

Maitland Riverlights Multicultural Festival will be proudly presented by Greater Bank when it returns to The Levee on Saturday 13 October in a partnership that will celebrate our community’s rich diversity.

October’s festival will be the first time Greater Bank has been the naming rights sponsor of the event, previously they had supported the lantern making activities, adding to their growing list of community driven support for local events and initiatives.

Riverlights will again transform The Levee into a celebration filled with colour, music, dance and the sounds and smells of Maitland’s culturally diverse community.

Council’s Events Coordinator Adam Franks says, ‘It’s fantastic that Greater Bank has increased their support for the festival and with their help, we’re looking forward to creating a wonderful atmosphere for people to immerse themselves in.

‘We are planning an exciting program of activities with a few extra surprises to build on the success of the festival in February and past years. Our cultural villages will again return with food tasting, traditional games and arts, and of course the music and dance that I think was a highlight of February’s festival.’

Greater Bank’s support of the schools lantern making competition will again see the winning preschool, primary school and high school receive $1000 each to go to their P&C. Stay tuned for details on how your school can enter the competition in the coming weeks.

Greater Bank’s Regional Manager, Jennifer Smith says, ‘Greater Bank has had a strong presence in the Maitland area for many years and we are delighted to provide support to a community that has long supported us. It’s an underlying and key philosophy of our business.

‘Riverlights is one of the region’s most significant cultural events and we again look forward to being part of it. We’re again looking forward to the school lantern competition, which last year, not only brought colour to the festival, but engaged students from across the area to learn more about the cultural diversity of our community.’

To experience the culture of the four corners of the world right here in Maitland, then make sure you put Maitland Riverlights in the calendar for Saturday 13 October from 3.00pm to 9.00pm.
