Maitland seniors love to celebrate
Local seniors will be flocking to events and activities across Maitland as part of NSW Seniors Festival, which starts on Wednesday 12 February.
The 2020 Seniors Festival theme is ‘Love to Celebrate’ and Council will be hosting a Valentine’s Day Love Seat experience at The Riverlink at The Levee, to celebrate love in all of its forms. The Valentine’s Day Love Seat will be an opportunity for couples, families and friends, to reminisce, share their stories and have their photo taken.
Council’s Coordinator Community and Recreation Planning Emily Livens says, ‘We invite the community to come along to The Riverlink on Valentine’s Day to take part in this unique opportunity. Come along with your loved ones and friends, share your tips for a lasting relationship and have your photo taken in our vintage scene.
‘In addition to the Love Seat, there are so many more ways for local Seniors to get involved in the celebrations, with over 60 unique events and activities across Maitland, there really is something for everyone.
The Festival, which runs until Sunday 23 February, will feature a variety of free and low cost activities and events from meditation to aqua fitness, croquet to technology lessons, an Aboriginal art workshop and more.
