Maitland Taste returns to The Levee
This weekend I am looking forward to celebrating the delights of the Hunter Region at the tenth anniversary of Maitland Taste at The Levee. I have a passion for gardening and I love my fresh food, so I always find I have a wonderful time at this event. I am sure this Saturday and Sunday will be no different.
There is a lot to look forward to this year including cooking and gardening demonstrations, food stalls, music and entertainment, and the Slow Food Hunter Valley Local Fresh Food Precinct.
I am also excited to be spending some time working at the Maitland Your Say Engagement Tent, where we will be looking to get input from the community to feed into the development of a Destination Management Plan for Maitland. Council is looking to gain insights from locals and visitors about what they think of Maitland’s current visitor experiences and what they would like to see in the future. So if you have some ideas about what would make Maitland even more attractive in the future, please make time to come and see us on the weekend.

All About Women
This Friday 8 March is International Women’s Day and to help mark the occasion, Maitland Library will be live streaming a selection of sessions from the All About Women event at the Sydney Opera House, direct to Maitland Town Hall, this Sunday.
All About Women features emerging new voices from around the world speaking to future directions in feminism. It is a vibrant event that asks questions about gender, justice and equality and it’s great to see this coming to Maitland through the use of smart technology as a part of Maitland Library’s Look Who’s Talking Program.
The sessions will be streamed at Town Hall this Sunday from 1.00pm to 5.15pm so to book visit maitlandlibrary.com.au/events/all-about-women
