Three, two, one… ring in 2026 at Maitland Riverbank

Maitland City Council, together with presenting partner Valley Estate Agents, are ready to ring in the new year with an evening of family entertainment, live music, food trucks and a spectacular fireworks display at the annual Maitland New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Set along the Maitland Riverbank, Riverside Car Park and RH Taylor Reserve in Lorn, the event begins at 5pm and offers a wide range of activities for all ages. Families can enjoy free face painting from 5pm to 9pm, free popcorn, children’s activities and a lively disco playing the top hits of 2025. A selection of food, beverage and dessert stalls will also be available throughout the night.

The festivities will culminate in a spectacular 9pm fireworks display, lighting up the night sky above the Hunter River and providing the perfect finale to the year.

Maitland Mayor Philip Penfold said the celebration remains an important and much-loved event for the local community.

“New Year’s Eve is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the year that’s been.

“It’s always a vibrant, family-friendly night by the river, and we’re proud to offer an event that brings people of all ages together to enjoy live entertainment, great food and a fantastic fireworks display. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone as we count down to 2026.”

Live music will kick off with RSPYS at 5pm followed by Autumn Hearts at 6pm and Klub Kongo and the Piranha Tamers at 7pm. The band will return after the fireworks at 9.15pm and perform until the event concludes at 9.30pm.
