Athletics Centre - Maitland Regional Sportsground Precinct
Jointly funded by Council and Restart NSW Hunter Infrastructure and Investment Fund, the Maitland Regional Sporting Precinct - Athletics Track project is underway.
Maitland is a rapidly growing community and as such, Council is required to deliver an increase in recreational services.
In line with this and following completion of the redevelopment of No. 1 Sportsground, Council has begun works on the Athletics Centre Project, which is stage two of the broader Maitland Regional Sportsground Precinct. The redevelopment works will include the construction of a 400m synthetic track and associated field facilities, an amenities building, spectator seating and car parking, which will service both the new facility and No. 1 Sportsground.
It is a $10.5 million project joint funded by Council and Restart NSW Hunter Infrastructure and Investment Fund and is being built on the site of the No. 2 Sportsground and Smyth Field in Central Maitland.
