The Freeman of the City is an honorary award that is bestowed on occasion by Maitland City Council that recognises the lifelong achievements of an individual for the highest level of service in the community. 

In accordance with Council’s policy review the Freeman of the City Policy has been reviewed and the revised policy and nomination form is been publicly exhibited for community review and feedback.
