Description
Council is exhibiting a draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) proposed to be made between Maitland City Council (Council) and Thornton Brentwood Pty Ltd (the developer). Under the draft VPA the developer will:
• dedicate land to Council to form part of a Sub-Regional Biodiversity Corridor within Council’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy. The draft VPA would not exclude or offset Section 7.11 contributions applicable under an associated Development Application.
• construct a car park designed by Council, including footpaths in accordance with Council’s Manual of Engineering Standards.
Land and proposed development
The draft VPA is associated with Planning Proposal PP2022-130 for the reclassification of Community Land (listed below) to Operational Land for the purpose of legal and practical access to an intended residential subdivision.
