Walka People and Me

Listen, look & experience something new as you explore Walka Water Works. Find inspiration and illustrated guides within our Walka Me Inspired App, along with educational resources for beautiful locations along the Walka Lake Trail.

The Water Works brought great changes to the people of the Lower Hunter providing life changing clean water and supply to develop industries. You are invited to discover places for quiet contemplation, opportunities to draw, photograph & listen. Experience its recreational and restorative qualities for yourself. 

Below you will find a suite of creative and learning activities, including our Walka Me Inspired app and educational resources including curriculum units, powerpoints and worksheets for teachers and students. 

This project has been assisted through the NSW Heritage Grants Program
