About the role
As the Gallery Coordinator – Operations and Engagement, you will be responsible for coordinating the day to day operation of the section and to collaborate as a member of the department in delivering Maitland City Council’s Operational Plan. This includes but is not limited to providing high level administrative and business development support to the Gallery Director, working in partnership with the curational and vibrant city teams to develop marketing and digital engagement strategies to promote and enhance Gallery services and initiatives.
This role will also manage visitor services, oversee the management of the Gallery shop and manage, develop and support the Gallery’s volunteers to ensure compliance all while providing expertise, guidance, supervision and leadership.
You will have a strong interest in sharing art and culture with the community. To be successful in this role you will have degree qualifications in an arts related field or equivalent coupled with solid experience in an arts or cultural environment including Australian visual arts.
You will have demonstrated experience in arts administration and its operations with the ability to develop, manage and monitor budgets. As a natural leader with a high level of interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution and influencing skills you will have the ability to manage staff to successfully deliver defined outcomes.
This is a permanent full-time position with a salary range of $91,383 - $101,435 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 9.5% p.a. super.
