What's on at your local aquatic centre
During the Summer holidays, the Splash Pad at Maitland will be open daily from 11.00am to 4.00pm.
At East Maitland, the inflatable dragon returns daily from from 12.00pm to 3.00pm.
As they are every year, our Aquatics Centres will be FREE ENTRY on Wednesday 26 January 2022 to help our community celebrate Australia Day.
The Centres will be open from 8.00am to 6.00pm, with free entry from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Please note that the inflatables will not be open on Australia Day, due to the expected volume of patrons. The splash pad at Maitland Aquatics Centre will be open from 11.00am to 4.00pm.
In addition to daily activities, we’re also excited to welcome the return of Dive In Cinema to East Maitland Aquatics Centre! Dive In Cinema will bring three different movies to the Centre throughout the month of January, with titles to be revealed in mid December.
The cost of entry is $5 for out of pool tickets, and $10 for in pool tickets. Gates will open at 6pm, with the movies to begin at 8pm. The schedule is as follows:
- Friday 14 January: Raya and the Last Dragon (PG)
- Saturday 15 January: The Little Mermaid (G)
- Friday 21 January: Jungle Cruise (M)
We’re also excited to be bringing laser tag to Dive In Cinema, along with your favourites: food trucks, free swim until the movie begins, lawn games, and more!
If inclement weather strikes, Saturday 22 January has been reserved as a backup date.
Tickets are now on sale, and you can head to the MyMaitland website to purchase yours.
During the Summer Holidays, our Aquatics Centres also run five day Learn to Swim: Intensive Swimming and Water Safety Programs.
These run from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 12.00pm, and cost $80 per week, per child.
In January 2022 there will be two Learn to Swim: Intensive programs running, beginning on weeks starting Monday 10 January and Monday 17 January.

Come to the pool, be cool and help plant a food bowl.
Kids will have a take home pack of seeds, planning instructions, and some craft resources to make their own plant markers.
There will be a few short story readings, including Jack-the-Silly Yak which will be read by author Alexandra Mangano and she will lead some on pool fun activities.
Lunch will be on us, kids can prepare and share the perpetual food bowl, things like tomatoes, beans and cucumbers, and more.
- Tuesday 11 January from 10.00am
- Wednesday 19 January from 10.00am
