To assist community members affected by the flood event in May, Council is providing clean-up assistance for eligible residential properties. The program covers flood-affected household waste from residential properties only.
While applications for the full waste fee waiver closed on 31 July 2025, waste facility fees will continue to be waived for approved properties until 18 August 2025. For others, a reduced gate fee of $285.80 per tonne may apply for accepted storm or flood waste. All materials will be inspected on arrival to confirm eligibility for the reduced rate.
Accepted items:
- Waste caused by flood damage to residential property
- Flood damaged materials or furniture
- Debris deposited by flood water on a residential block
Not accepted items
- Liquids, wet sludge, problem or hazardous waste such as asbestos
- General household waste not damaged by flooding
- Household items/bulky waste that isn’t damaged or impacted by flooding
- Waste from commercial or industrial properties
- Waste from the non-residential component of rural or farmland properties
- Deceased animals or livestock
