Council meetings
Council meets twice a month on Tuesdays at 5.30pm in Maitland Town Hall.
Council meetings have been impacted by public health orders relating to social distancing and indoor gatherings. In response to those orders and in accordance with amendments to the NSW Local Government Act, 1993:
- Council meetings have relocated to the Maitland Town Hall auditorium
- Public attendance at Council meetings is now permitted
- A limit of 25 members of the public can attend and booking is essential to secure a seat
- Bookings open for each meeting with the release of the agenda on the Friday immediately prior to the meeting and close at 12 noon on the day of the Council meeting, if not fully reserved beforehand
- Bookings can be made here or you can call Council’s Customer Experience Team on 02 4934 9700
- Live streaming of Council meetings will continue as usual for those not present
- For those who wish to speak at a Council meeting regarding an item on the agenda, you must lodge a Public Access Speaker Request Form.
- Requests for public access will be determined by the General Manager based on merit and an appropriate means by which any submission may be provided
