From swimming to sleuthing: What’s on these spring school holidays
Make a splash at Maitland Aquatic Centre, or some noise at one of Maitland Regional Art Gallery’s Sonic September sessions. Or maybe arts and crafts at the library are more your speed? Find out more about what’s on below.
Maitland Aquatics
Maitland Aquatic Centre’s free family open day ushers in the summer season next Wednesday 28 September from 10.00am to 4.00pm. This includes free use of the splash pad and outdoor inflatables, as well as free aqua classes, including aqua fitness and aqua bikes. Find out more here.
The Levee

Maitland Libraries
There’s all sorts of fun to be had at your local library these school holidays, with lots of workshops centered around arts and crafts. Find out more here.
Maitland Regional Art Gallery

View the full program on the MRAG website.
Maitland Gaol
Junior Sleuth: Word Detective
In order to solve crimes, detectives must first sift through clues. During this activity, children will be given a puzzle, and discover the clues to solve it on a mini one hour tour of the Gaol site. Running Thursday 29 September and 6 October from 11.00am, all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Click here to book.
Workhouse Woes: Chapel Craft
Some of Maitland Gaol’s special features were left behind by its prisoners, such as the painted glass windows in the chapel. Following a mini guided tour of the site, you’ll get the chance to make a special coloured pattern like those seen on the chapel’s historic windows. Running Tuesday 27 and 4 October from 11.00am, all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Click here to book.
