Nominations for City of Maitland Medal and The City of Maitland Service Award are now open
Council is calling for nominations for the 2018 Maitland City Service Awards and asking the community to nominate a group or an individual worthy of special recognition.
The Maitland City Service Awards Program aims to recognise volunteers who have, through their initiative and dedication, made a positive contribution to enhancing the lives of others in Maitland. They are about showing appreciation of service, commitment, effort and achievements that make a difference.
Nominations can be placed under one of two categories, the City of Maitland Medal and the City of Maitland Service Award. The City of Maitland Medal is awarded to an organisation or group while the City of Maitland Service Award is presented to an individual who provides outstanding service to a specific group.
Maitland Mayor Cr Loretta Baker says, ‘We have some special organisations and individuals that make up the fabric of this town and ultimately make it a special place to live. They never seek thanks or praise for what they do, so it’s important we have these awards to ensure they get the recognition they deserve.
‘I’m looking forward to seeing a wide range of nominations this year and I encourage anyone who knows a deserving group or individual, to get their nomination in’.
