PRD Nationwide Hunter Valley back again for New Year's Eve
PRD Nationwide Hunter Valley has once again thrown its support behind the Maitland New Year’s Eve Celebrations, to be held on the banks of the Hunter River in Central Maitland.
The official farewell to 2018 kicks off at 5.00pm on Monday 31 December and there will be a range of entertainment in the lead up to a spectacular fireworks display at 9.00pm.
PRD Nationwide Hunter Valley’s Principal Rhonda Nyquist says, ‘We at PRD Nationwide Hunter Valley are excited to be sponsoring New Year’s Eve in Maitland for the fourth year in a row. We love the opportunity to give back to the community that supports us by providing this free family night out on New Year’s Eve’.
Along with live music from the likes of The Autumn Hearts and The Rehab Brass Band, the event will feature a range of free family friendly activities including amusement rides, a kids disco and craft activity, face painting, and a photo booth. There will also be a whole lot happening on the Lorn riverbank including a mega slide and family yard games.
Council’s Team Leader Events Kara Stonestreet says, ‘We are thrilled to have the support of PRD Nationwide Hunter Valley for New Year’s Eve once again. We’re looking forward to a great event with a range of music, food and free activities but once again the highlight will be the spectacular fireworks display at 9.00pm. We really encourage locals to come to the riverbank and celebrate with us’.
New Year’s Eve in Maitland is a family friendly event and Maitland City Council is encouraging people to drink responsibly, with antisocial behaviour not tolerated. Visitors to the river front are permitted to take small amounts of alcohol into the event, with the regular alcohol free zone restrictions lifted between 3.00pm and 9.30pm.
