PRD Nationwide Hunter Valley returns to support Maitland's NYE celebrations
PRD Nationwide Hunter Valley has once again thrown their support behind the Maitland New Year’s Eve Celebrations, to be held on the banks of the Hunter River in Central Maitland.
The official farewell to 2017 kicks off at 5.00pm on Sunday 31 December and there will be a range of entertainment in the lead up to a spectacular fireworks display at 9.00pm.
PRD Nationwide Hunter Valley’s Principal Rhonda Nyquist says, ‘PRD Nationwide are proud to be sponsoring New Years Eve for the third consecutive year. To be part of something that brings this kind of joy to so many people is really important to us.’
Along with live music, the event will feature a range of free family friendly activities including amusement rides, a kids disco, face painting, cardboard slides and a jumping castle. The NSW Girl Guides NSW & ACT will also be running mask making activities and kids will be able to come and create their own masterpiece, wear it all night and take it home with them once everything wraps up.
Council’s Events Officer Operations Kate Henry says, ‘We are very excited to have the support of PRD Nationwide Hunter Valley for New Year’s Eve once again. It is going to be a big event with a range of music, food and free activities but once again the highlight will be the spectacular fireworks display at 9.00pm. We really encourage locals to come to the riverbank and celebrate with us.’
New Year’s Eve in Maitland is a family friendly event and Maitland City Council is encouraging people to drink responsibly and antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated. Visitors to the river front are permitted to take small amounts of alcohol into the event. Regular alcohol restrictions will be lifted between 3.00pm and 9.30pm.
