Share the dignity with Maitland City Library

Share the Dignity is a charity that ensures women across Australia have access to personal care products, such as sanitary pads, toothpaste and hair shampoo. Founded in Brisbane by Rochelle Courtenay to provide help to homeless women and those fleeing domestic violence, the charity has grown to incorporate many campaigns, all of them aimed at restoring dignity to women when they need it most.

The ‘It’s In The Bag’ campaign encourages people to donate a bag filled with personal care products to be distributed as a Christmas gift through Share the Dignity’s partner shelters and charitable organisations, where they are given to women and teenage girls experiencing or at risk of homelessness or domestic violence.

Manager Gallery and Libraries, Keryl Collard says, ‘Scientific research has proven that giving is better than receiving. Share the dignity this Christmas by donating personal care products and a thoughtful card or gift for distribution to women in need.’
