Steamfest 2020 cancelled
In light of Australian Government recommendation, Maitland City Council as organiser of Burton Automotive Hunter Valley Steamfest, has made the decision to cancel the event in 2020.
Council supports the advice provided by the Australian Government and as such has made the decision with the health and safety of the community as its top priority. Due to the fluid nature of the required response to COVID-19, the 2020 event will not be postponed to a later date.
The 2020 event was shaping up to be great one, with significant interest around the return of 3801, however Council and the Steamfest Working Group will now turn their attention to developing an extraordinary program of activities for next year’s event, which will celebrate the 35th anniversary of Steamfest on 17 and 18 April 2021.
Council would like to acknowledge the support of event stakeholders including major sponsor Burton Automotive, businesses within the Maitland area, the Maitland Steam and Antique Machinery Association, Show ‘n’ Shine community, stallholders, community groups, volunteers and staff, and look forward to delivering the best event possible in 2021.
