Economic statistics and investment
Against the backdrop of the Hunter River and outstanding heritage built form, our regional city has been growing. 104,700 are expected to call Maitland home by 2041.
Local market demand is expanding, and businesses are responding. We are seeing strong business registrations, particularly in construction, logistics and postal services.
Public and private investment is shaping our city, creating economic opportunity, and bolstering liveability in our city. Major infrastructure includes the Hunter Expressway and $470M new Maitland Hospital. Council is driving urban renewal in Central Maitland, with award winning redevelopment of The Levee and Riverlink Building, and Maitland Regional Athletics Centre. The $45M Maitland Administration Centre is on track to open in late 2022.
