Groundbreaking 1:1 CONCERT coming to Maitland Regional Art Gallery in 2021

Maitland Regional Art Gallery is excited to partner with ‘1:1 CONCERT’ as a host venue for monthly performances throughout 2021.
Set in the Gallery after hours, the unique opportunity will see audiences experience an interesting one on one performance from a talented musician.
The program was launched in Australia by Sally Walker, a lecturer in Classical Woodwind at the Australian National University School of Music, and was devised to experience powerful connections between the performer and the listener.
Ms Walker says, ‘rather than just playing to impress, we want the listener to feel the force of the performance. These concerts are about connecting. We want to really feel the presence of another person and connect with them on a very deep level through music’.
Concert attendees will not know who, or what instrument, will play for them with performers ranging from a cellist, organist, violinist, pianist, and flautist.
Gallery Director Gerry Bobsien says, ‘the 1:1 CONCERT experience is overwhelmingly beautiful. It kickstarts the Gallery’s 2021 program with a taste of what is in store for our visitors this year’.
1:1 CONCERT at MRAG launches in February, with performances on Thursday 18 February and Thursday 4 March, and once per month to be announced throughout the year.
Attendance to concerts is free with audiences invited to make a donation afterwards.
Bookings are limited and made directly through 1:1 CONCERT by visiting here.
