Maitland is a rapidly growing community and as such, Council is required to deliver an increase in recreational services. In line with this, Council has begun construction on the Cessnock Road Cycleway, which will provide an off road cycleway linking Gillieston Heights to the Maitland City Precinct.
Read moreHaussman Drive has been identified as one of the key roads requiring upgrading works to support the full development in the Chisolm and Thornton North under the Section 94 Contributions Plan (now known as Section 7.11).
The traffic generation from the Thornton North development will result in a significant increase in traffic on the existing local and state road network, generating a need for new and/or upgraded traffic facilities, roads, bridges and intersections.

Read moreThe Queens Wharf Masterplan was developed in 2017 in consultation with the local community and businesses. The Masterplan consists of a number of stages, many of which are reliant on land acquisition.
The first stage of the Queens Wharf Masterplan, Stage A, was completed in October 2020. Further stages will be completed in the future.
Stage A is funded by Roads and Maritime Service (New South Wales Government) under the NSW Boating Now Program and by Maitland City Council.
